Official WHO Definition | Water that is intended for human consumption and suitable for all usual domestic uses, complying with the requirements of the WHO Guidelines for Drinking-water Quality or appropriate national standards established by the regulating authority (WHO 2006).Water that meets or exceeds all applicable federal/provincial/local requirements concerning safety. Also known as potable (drinkable) water (Symons 2000).
