Summary

The report highlights how speakers and participants to the seminar made a strong case for establishing a link between human rights and the MDGs. Many concrete examples were presented of how this link can be operationalised in the human rights framework, in the MDG framework and in development cooperation. The report includes a keynote speech by H.E. Navanethem Pillay, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights. The case of Kenya is used to illustrate concrete work on the HRBA to water. The report concludes with a list of conclusions and follow-up actions.
