Summary
This study sought to identify the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of the WAWI partners on issues of disability and accessibility in water and sanitation sector services and programmes. The main findings show that partners lacked experience and technical skills in dealing with issues of persons with disabilities (PWDs) and WATSAN facilities were often a problem for them to access. A range of practical ideas and suggestions are made to address some of these problems. The study helped to design a training workshop for WAWI partners and PWDs and introduced practical approaches to improving accessibility and inclusion to WATSAN services and programmes.
