This international congress aims to address the World Commission on Protected Areas' Marine goal and primary themes, and advance discussion on their widespread adoption and implementation consistent with resolutions relevant to marine protected areas arising from the Durban World Parks Congress.

9th Conference of the Parties to the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands, 8-15 November 2005, Kampala - Uganda
The 9th Conference of the Ramsar Convention will convene to assess the progress of the Convention and wetland conservation to date, share knowledge and experience on technical issues, and plan their own and the Secretariat's work for the next three years.
