Official WHO Definition

Garburator is usually installed beneath a kitchen sink to shred kitchen waste and dispose it with wastewater. Treatment of the wastewater involves removing the kitchen waste from the wastewater, so it may not be considered as a desirable method for disposing of kitchen waste (UNEP 2000).
