Monitoring and Evaluation are essential components of the GEF project cycle. Instituted in May 1995, the M&E program is designed to monitor, evaluate, and disseminate GEF project related information and lessons on project performance, changes in country capacities and policies affecting the global environment, project environmental benefits and adequacy of GEF guidelines and procedures.
