Description

Overall objective of the project: The project's overall objective is to facilitate access to drinking water and sanitation for the people of the villages Mar Lot and Mar Soulou.

Specific objectives: ? Access to drinking water for the population of the two villages; ? Promote hygiene and sanitation by building latrines in the two villages.

Planned activities: Organization of a meeting of a participatory exchange for the selection of sites for wells and latrines Sinking of six (06) wells Organisation of disinfection of wells for drinking water during winter; Construction of 38 latrines in concessions; Organization of a day for advocacy for the active involvement of local authorities, resource persons, vulnerable persons (children and women) and traditional leaders in the fight against the use of immersed latrines; Identification of sites and search for propagules; Organization of days for reforestation; Monitoring and control of the sections is reinforced by monthly follow-ups; Introduction of improved stoves on a pilot basis in some families.

Expected Results: Availability of drinking water in the villages Mar Lothie and Mar Soulou Improved water quality throughout the year The people are involved in the selection of sites for wells and latrines A certain awareness of people about the dangers and risks associated with unsafe water The considerable reduction in traffic on open latrines, which are causing infections through the runoff of rainwater. Output indicators: The meeting is organized; The wells are sunk; Disinfection campaigns are organized; The latrines are built; The advocacy day is organized; 10ha of mangroves are planted; 125 improved stoves are available.
