Summary

Cambodia is making good progress in urban water and sanitation. While rural water progress has also made significant gains since 1990, rural sanitation still has a ways to go. Cambodia will need to significantly increase investments to improve water and sanitation. It is important to note that investment in water and sanitation not only represents provision of basic services, but also contributes to health, education, the environment, and poverty reduction.
